Circulation Services in Maag Library

To borrow a library material, Current YSU students, faculty and staff need to have Library barcode. To obtain your library barcode, bring your valid YSU ID to the Circulation desk, Main Floor.

To borrow materials from Maag Library, Friends of Maag Library and Members of the YSU Alumni Association should bring your Photo ID, Courtesy Card and Current Alumni membership card (YSU Alumni Association members) to borrow materials from Maag Library. Members of these organizations have limited borrowing privileges and must register at the Circulation Desk to receive a library barcode.

Students, faculty and staff of other OhioLINK institutions should have your Current ID from home institution.

Checking out / Returning Materials

To check out Maag library materials and materials borrowed from OhioLILK libraries, present a valid YSU ID card with library barcode to library staff in circulation desk. You are liable for all materials checked out to your ID number.

Date-due slips or stamped cards are placed in all materials borrowed. You are responsible for the due date and returning or renewing the materials by the designated time. Materials are to be returned to the Circulation Desk, main floor lobby during library hours. Materials may also be deposited on the west side of the building (facing Ward Beecher Hall) when library is closed.

OhioLINK materials can be returned to any OhioLINK libraries.

Renewing Materials

Maag Library materials can be renewed up to 3 times for all borrowers.
OhioLINK materials can be renewed 4 times (as long as there are no HOLDS on the book).
Reserve materials cannot be renewed.
To renew InterLibrary Loan materials, patron should contact to Maag library staff at 330-941-3702 three days before the due day. The InterLibrary loan mateials renewing is not guranteed.

Materials can be renewed by:

In Person. Present your ID card with library barcord to circulation desk staff. It is not necessary to bring the materials to library in order to have them renewed.
Telephone. Call 330-941-3678 to renew the materials.
Online -- Through Maag Library Catalog:

1. In library homepage, clink Your Circulation Record.

2. Enter your name and library barcode.

3. Click on "Submit" button.

4. Click on "Items currently checked out".

5. Select the materials to be renewed in "RENEW" Column.

6. Press "RENEW ALL" button.

7. The new due date of the materials will appear.

Recalls/Holds, and Search Requests

YSU students, faculty, staff may initiate a Hold Request when

A book is available on shelf. The book will be on hold for this patron for a number of days.
A book is already checked out to another patron. The library will send a notice to you when the book is checked in.

To do a Hold Request:
1. In Maag Libaray Catalog (MaagNet), clink the record of your book to go to the catalog record.
2. Clink the "Request" button on the top of the page to initiate a hold request.
3. Enter your name and barcode in the request area then select a time for your request and "Submit" .
4. In the next page, your requested materials will be shown. Press REQUEST SELECTED ITEM button to complete your request.
5. Your request will be delivered to Maag Library when it is available.

Search Requests may be requested for materials which are "Available" in library catalog, but which you are unable to locate on the shelves. Go to Circulation Desk to initiate a search request.
