Scheduling Policy for Instruction Room (4th Floor)

The increasing demand for information literacy classes necessitates that the Instruction Room be available as much as possible to provide flexibility in scheduling and accommodating classes as well as other staff needs.

Occasionally we receive requests from non-library groups to reserve the room for training or other purposes. The following policy will be followed:

(1) If a request comes from a campus department, such as for YES training, is a one-time request and not an ongoing commitment, we will do our best to accommodate the request.

(The library staff member who books the reservation is responsible for entering the information into ResSched AND for making arrangements for opening/closing the room.)

(2) If a request comes from a faculty member for use of the room for class presentations which may involve multiple class sections, is a one-time request and not an ongoing commitment, we will do our best to accommodate the request.

(The library staff member who books the reservation is responsible for entering the information into ResSched AND for making arrangements for opening/closing the room.)

(3) The room will not be reserved on an ongoing basis, such as for a class that meets once or twice a week.

(exception: classes taught by Library staff)

(4) Requests received from non-campus groups will be considered on an individual basis. We get very few such requests. One group that has used the room in the past is the Mahoning County Law Library group for Lexis-Nexis training.
