YSU in 1958
 

Another enrollment record was broken at Youngstown University, with more than 6,000 students registered for classes, with the freshman class alone totaling more than 1,100. Professor Bernard J. Yozwiak, of the Mathematics faculty, was awarded a Science Faculty Fellowship for the summers of 1958 and 1959 by the National Science Foundation, and Dr. Alfred D. Low, instructor of history, published a book entitled Lenin on the Question of Nationality.
